地球與行星科學碩士學位課程學習計劃

i. program duration / 課程期限

the normal study period of master of earth and planetary sciences program is 2 years. the maximum study period is 3 years. 
本課程正常修業期限為2年，最長修業期限為3年。（2018/2019學年及之前入學的學生，請參閱入學當年的學習計劃。）

iv. majors / 專業範疇

students perform research in the following fields (but not limited to) with data from planetary exploration; / 在導師的指導下就（但不限於）以下三個學術範疇進行畢業論文的選題:

1）planetary geology / 行星地質

2）planetary atmosphere and space environment / 行星大氣與空間環境

3）research and observation on asteroids and comets / 小天體觀測及研究

v. course structure / 課程設置

table 1: core courses (18 credits) / 基礎必修科目 (18學分)

table 2: major courses* (6 credits) / 專業範疇科目* (6學分)

* the university has the ultimate right to decide which course or whether the course will be opened for all major subjects. / 大學有權取消開辦修讀人數不足之專業範疇科目

table 3: thesis (12 credits) / 學位論文 (12學分)

table 4: others (1 credit) / 其他非授課科目 (1學分)

vi. teaching requirements / 學習要求

1. students are required to complete six core courses from table 1, two major courses from table 2, academic activities (ten times of attendance) from table 4 during the first two semesters to gain 25 credits.
   第一、 二學期修讀完成學習計劃規定的表(一)中的6門基礎必修科目，表(二)中的2門專業範疇科目和表(四)中的學術活動(學生須參加不少於10次學術活動)，共計25學分。
2. students are required to complete an original research master’s thesis in no less than 20,000 words and pass the thesis oral defense.
   撰寫一篇符合學校要求且不少於2萬字的原創論文並進行論文答辯，碩士學位論文必須通過評審及論文答辯。
3. after finishing each course, students will be assessed based on regulations established by the instructor and the faculty.
   學生在每門科目上課結束後，須進行考核，考核按授課老師及學院的規定方式進行。

vii. study time / 學習時間

the duration for taking all courses is 12 months and the duration for thesis writing is 12 months. classes will generally be scheduled at daytime (9:00-18:00) in weekdays or weekend.

科目修讀時間為12個月，論文寫作時間為12個月。課堂一般安排在星期一至星期五日間或週末上課。

viii. graduation requirements / 畢業資格
upon approval from the senate of the university, a master’s degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has: / 學生須符合下列各項規定，並經大學學術及教學委員會通過可獲頒發碩士學位：

1. completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific study period, and achieved a cumulative gpa of 2.50 or above (excluding dissertation)
   在所屬課程之修業期內完成及通過學習計劃的要求，各科目成績（不含學位論文成績）累計平均積點不低於2.50*
2. abided by the regulations of the university
   遵守大學的修讀守則
3. cleared all fees and charges and returned all university’s property and equipment borrowed
   繳清指定費用及歸還所借的大學財物。

if students pass all courses required in table 1, 2 and 4 above with a cumulative gpa of 2.5 or above, but fail to submit or pass the final thesis oral defense during the specified period, he/she can only get a completion certificate.

如學生及格完成上述課程設置表（一）、表（二）及表（四）的科目，累計平均積點不低於2.50， 但未能在規定時間內完成學位論文或通過論文答辯，則只可取得結業證書。
